Pretty, slightly vintage-y gloves knitted in a gorgeous hand-dyed blend of Baby Alpaca, Silk and Cashmere from Juno Fibre Arts, available in two sizes (s/m, approx 17.5cm hand circumference and m/l, approx 19.5cm hand circumference). As the Alice Sock yarn has a very generous 400m / 100g it is possible to get 2 of the s/m pairs of gloves from a single skein, a bonus pattern is included for this purpose in case you get bored working the Cockleshell pattern. Called Silver Bells, they look like this, although are only written for the s/m size:
Instructions are also give for handwarmers in the Cockleshell pattern to make use of all of the skein if you knit the m/l size of the gloves - these come in two sizes, you can definitely get a s/m pair of Gloves and a m/l pair of Handwarmers from one skein, a pair each of m/l Gloves and Handwarmers should be possible (although we're not guaranteeing this!), especially if you shorten the Handwarmers slightly - they have generous cuffs as written and some people might prefer shorter a cuff.
Tension - approx. 36 sts and 45 rows to 10cm over st st in the round.
1 x 100g skein (400m / yds per skein) Juno Fibre Arts Alice Sock, 70% Alpaca, 20% Silk, 10% Cashmere or approximately 400 metres / 433 yards sock weight yarn.
