An updated version of the classic Aran sweater with new proportions for a more modern look. Cool in cream, but will look just as good in a bright colour or a more muted shade for the less exhibitionist man.
Tension - unwashed tension (for Colourmart yarn) 16 stitches and 20 rows to 10cm over double moss stitch on 6mm needles, giving a finished, washed tension of 16 stitches and 23 rows to 10 cm. If using yarn that does not require washing before wearing, the only tension to worry about is this finished one. I suspect that Quince & Co's Osprey might well be a good substitution.
Finished chest sizes: 91.5(96.5, 101.5, 106.5, 112, 117, 122, 127)cm, 36(38, 40, 42, 44, 46, 48, 50)".
6(6, 6, 7, 7, 7, 7, 8) 150g cones (452m / 490yds per cone) Colourmart 2/6nm 5/95 Cashmere / Merino wool, yarn used double throughout, or approximately 750(800, 850, 900, 950, 1000, 1050, 1100)g yarn to give you the correct washed tension.
5mm and 6mm needles, plus an 80cm 5mm circular needle for the neck, or the sizes required to give you the correct tension.
Stitch holders for the front and back neck stitches, and your preferred needle for sewing up.
Instructions for stitch patterns used are both written and charted, set-up charts given for each size as well as the written instructions.
You can purchase directly through Paypal or via Ravelry, you do not need to have an account with either to purchase through them but if you do have a Ravelry account you can store the pattern in your library there.
